I began my legal career in 1990 as a Marion County Deputy Prosecutor in Indianapolis, Indiana. Within one year as a prosecutor, I tried approximately five-hundred misdemeanor and minor felony cases. I left the Prosecutor's Office in 1991 and for a period of time between 1992 and 1996 I functioned in the private practice while maintaining a part-time Public-Defender position. From 1991 until 1999 a significant portion of the legal work that I performed involved major felony defense representation.
